Healing Services

Next Healing Service: To Be Specified

Bringing the Healing Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ for those in need of healing is one of the greatest acts of charity.

There are many examples in the Gospels, and the Bible, about how God is a God who heals. Jesus himself commanded his disciples to go out and to heal the sick. In the Gospel of Luke, we read:-

Luke 9

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Ministry of the Twelve

And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.

We believe that Jesus continues to bring healing in many ways through His Church and His people. For Catholics we have the Sacraments of Healing, which are, the Sacraments of Reconciliation, the Eucharist and Annointing of the Sick; In addition to this we know that God Heals His people through prayer, and also through the Charism of Healing, as described in  1 Corinthians 12, shown below:-

1 Corinthians 12

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Use of Spiritual Gifts

12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware. You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking [a]by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is [b]accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except [c]by the Holy Spirit.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith [d]by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of [e]healing [f]by the one Spirit, 10 and to another the [g]effecting of [h]miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the [i]distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For [j]by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

With this in mind we hold monthly Healing Services, generally held on the 3rd Friday of the Month, 7pm Start. Please check the "Events Calendar" for actual dates.
